Kuwait: UMK to celebrate 10th anniversary with ‘Fun Filled Evening’ on Nov 1

Kuwait, May 13: United Mangaloreans Kuwait (UMK), a group of likeminded people, is all geared up to host its 10th anniversary’s 8th ‘Fun Filled Evening 2019’, on November 1 at American International School Auditorium (AIS), Maidan Hawalli, Kuwait at sharp 4.00 pm onwards.

The motto of the group is to provide the platform to the local talents and to help the underprivileged back home in Mangaluru.

During the past ten years, UMK has staged seven ‘Fun Filled Evening’ programmes and contributed over Rs 1.44 cr to nine various needy institutions in and around Mangaluru. This was possible only due to the overwhelming support from the sponsors and well-wishers who have contributed generously.





































































This year too, UMK will present variety of cultural programmes and a Konkani comedy drama, in aid of St Philomena Orphanage, Kemmannu, Udupi district, Karnataka, India.

As a part of the ‘Fun Filled Evening 2019’, muhurath ceremony of Konkani comedy drama ‘Ashin….Kashin Zalim Phishin….?’ held on May 10 at Bestow Hall, Salmiya. The drama is written by Dinesh, Kankanady, translated to Konkani by Dolla, Mangaluru.

The drama is going to be directed by well-known director in Kuwait, Ronald D’Souza, Mulki, assisted by Joel Pinto, Udupi.

The ceremony started with welcoming and brief introduction about UMK by host of the evening Sharu Pereira.

Drama director Ronald D’Souza, assistant director Joel Pinto, advisor of UMK Roque Lewis, gurkar of UMK Agnel Saldanha, visiting guest Florine Dias and UMK’s active member Flavia Lobo were called on to the dais.

Sharal Barboza lead the prayer followed by lighting the lamp and releasing the drama script by the guests on the dais.

Ronald D’Souza gave a brief narration about the drama. Macleen Rodrigues conducted the oath taking on behalf of the drama artistes.

Treasurer Praveen Castelino requested the gathered to support UMK for record breaking collection during ‘Fun Filled Evening 2019’.

Founder member Lucy Aranha in her address shared the fond memories with UMK, how popular the group has become for the charity works through the past ten years of its existence and requested the gathered to make the forthcoming event ‘Fun Filled Evening 2019’, a grand success.

In his address, Agnel Saldanha thanked each and every person associated with UMK for completing 10 successful years. He also sought continued wholehearted support from all towards UMK for the years to come.

Florine Dias honored Sathish Saldanha with a flower for his support towards UMK.

Mary Saldanha rendered the vote of thanks.

Anil Avil Fernandes captured the moments.

Guests were served with tasty chicken biryani, prepared by Sathish Saldanha and team. All the expenses of the day were shouldered by the members.
