Sacred Heart Church Bahrain to present Konkani play ‘Sikeram Driver’ on May 24

Bahrain, May 13: The Konkani community of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kingdom Of Bahrain will organise Konkani social drama called ‘Sikeram Driver' on May 24 at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium from 7.00 pm onwards. The most popular and award winning Konkani drama 'Sikeram Driver' will be enacted by one of Dubai’s topmost artistic and fantastic groups Dony Correa and team with music composed by well-known musician Rohan Kalakul.

Under the leadership of parish priest Fr Xavier M D’Souza and the constant support and guidance of Fr Darel Fernandes, the spiritual director of SHC’s vibrant Konkani community, genuine and meaningful entertainment is provided to the community through various programmes throughout the year. Hence it is a great opportunity for all Konkani drama lovers in Bahrain to witness and enjoy the performances of new and multi-talented actors of the award-winning social drama.

The drama is written by late Michael Maxim D’Souza well-known in the Konkani world by his pen name ‘Mick-Max’. He has written many dramas which are not only socially appealing to the audiences, but also provides lessons on the truths of life.

The enthusiasm and full dedication with which Sacred Heart Church’s Konkani core committee team has been organising enjoyable Konkani plays and music concerts to offer great entertainment to the parishioners of the church from time and again from last several years is commendable. This time around the expectation is very high and everyone is hoping that this event will be a huge success as well.

Hence, they expect full cooperation from the entire Sacred Heart Church parishioners.

Entry passes are available at the church and with Konkani community coordinators or Fr Darel Fernandes. All proceeds will go towards the construction of the Cathedral in Awali.
