Mangaluru: YCS and Women’s Association, Balkunje celebrates annual day

Mangaluru, Apr 26: Balkunje Young Catholic Students annual day and 10th anniversary of women’s association was celebrated on April 21 at Balkunje church ground.

Fr Michael Dsilva presided over the event along with other dignitaries. Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya orphanage, Br Jeevan Dsouza, Jeswita Quadras, YCS national president, Merwin Vas, YCS Mangaluru diocese coordinator, Prajwal Sequiera, YCS Mangaluru diocese animator, Ashwiya Lasrado, YCS Mangaluru diocese president, Sheldon Williams, YCS Kinnigoli deanery animator, Priyanka Dsouza, YCS Kinnigoli deanery president, Shanthi Saldanha, Kinnigoli deanery women’s association president, Nelson lobo, Balkunje parish council vice president, Sr Zenita, Balkunje Women’s association animator, Melreeda Jane Rodrigues, Balkunje YCS animator, Anita Dsouza, Balkunje women’s association president, Sunitha pinto, Balkunje women’s association secretary and Caroline Dsouza, YCS Balkunje unit president were present.



The main intention of YCS annual day was to provide a helping hand for Snehalya orphanage. Rs 30,000 and grocery items were handed over to them.

Event agenda also included the felicitation of YCS distinction holders Jackson Rebello (93.3%), Deson D’mello (93%), Delma Dsouza (89.6%), and Lisha Dsouza (89.8%).

YCS Balkunje unit has bagged 100% results in PUC board examinations.

Women’s association felicitated Dr Freeda Rodrigues for being elected as one of the directors of MCC Bank.

Eliza Lobo, founder president of Balkunje women’s association and Helen Andrew were also felicitated.

Deson D’mello and Lavina Serrao compered the event.

After formal programme, Tulu comedy drama ‘Ulai Pidai’ was staged by Umesh mijar and team.
