Opinion: Modi speech in Mangaluru - Truth vs hype

By Jason Saldanha

(Freelance blogger and writer from Mangaluru)

Mangaluru, Apr 15: Mr Prime Minister, congratulations. Your polarising speech in Mangaluru on April 13 swept people off their feet. But, it is absolutely immoral of you to misinform and mislead the people who worship you. People came to listen to what development you had done for them, but you wasted time in pelting stones at the opposition with no accountability of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel for 10 years and your central government of 5 years.

Importantly,

1. Why did you lie to us about Kerala? There is no ban on speaking about Lord Aiyyappa and Sabarimala in Kerala.

Prakash Babu, your BJP candidate from Kozikhode who you defended was jailed for alleged attack on a woman devotee in Sabarimala temple. You propagate 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', and you try to mould your words to justify his crime? Were you trying to religiously tamper the feelings of people of Mangaluru?

2. Why did you hide the reality of 'Antyodaya' (upliftment of the weakest sections) from us?

The minorities are the weakest in your government. Lynching and hate crime against minorities are the highest in your 5 years. Were you trying to mislead us by portraying a pure image?

3. Why were you not honest about your Majboor Sarkar?

You have more than 40 parties in your alliance for 2019 elections, much more than the ‘Mahamilavat’. How are you a Mazboot Sarkar then? Are you only able to diss your opposition and not accept your reality?

4. Why did you misinform us about the banking sectors?

You said in 2014, our banking sector was in ventilator. You said Congress gave double the loans between 2006 and 2014 than given in 60 years since independence for commission.

a. Then why did you not probe it in five years?

You said you stopped bank frauds and Congress opposed it.

b. What is your explanation for letting 'Mehul Bhai' and 'Nirav Bhai' (as you call them) go out of our country so easily?

You said you revived the banking sector.

c. Why are NPAs (non-performing assets, bad loans given) the highest in your 5 years with lowest recoveries? And why have you written off most of them?

5. Why did you fail to address nepotism in your party?

You said Congress promotes nepotism to the core. Then, why did you give tickets to more than 35 people in Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections based on nepotism? Have you forgotten about Pankaj Singh, Dushyant Singh, Abhishek Singh (and 20 others I can name)?

Why is the pot calling the kettle black?

6. Why did you politicise and lie to us about our armed forces?

You said, India went into their homes and killed them.

But, why were our forces not safe in our own house?

Why have suicides in our forces increased in your 5 years?

Do you not remember Pulwama, Gurudapsur, Uri, Sukma, Sunjwan, Pathankot?

Why do you fail to address the intelligence failure for the Pulwama attack?

Why do you ignore that you did not approve an airlift for those jawans?

7. Why do you hide and lie about corruption?

You said due to Congress there is corruption, in your 5 years in office why is not one person from central Congress party in jail? Why is Robert Vadra free?

Why have several politicians from other parties with cases of corruption against them entered BJP and cleansed themselves?

You said you have increased transparency and honesty.

Why did you pass the Finance Bill and make electoral bonds secretive and anonymous? You received 95% of these electoral donations. You have also allowed foreign funding to political parties.

Did you legalise corruption? Are you hiding the truth from the voter?

8. You said you have worked for education of children.

Then, why has the growth rate of government expenditure on ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) scheme much lower than UPA 1 and UPA 2?

Why have you reduced the expenditure (% share of GDP) on education?

9. You said you have worked towards jobs for youth.

Then, why is unemployment in India at a 45 year high?

Why are you hiding the NSSO report that proves this?

10.You said you have worked for the farmers. You said Congress kept middlemen and commission people strong and you stopped it.

a. Then, why have farmer suicides increased drastically in your 5 years?
b. Why have you hidden the data for farmer suicides?
c. Why are farmers protesting against you regularly (111 Tamilnadu farmers filed nomination against you in Varanasi, wasn’t that protest)?
d. Have the middlemen (who still exist) not given the farmers the right price for their crop?

11. You spoke about giving 12 crore farmers Rs 75,000 crore and that the first instalment of Rs 2,000 has already been given.

Then, why did people say they did not receive the first instalment to Rajnath Singh in his Purnia, Bihar rally? Are you misleading us?

12. You said OROP (One Rank One Pension) has been passed successfully.

Then, why did 10,000 retired officers protest against it in Delhi? Why did Major General Satbir Singh, chairman of the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement allegedly say "Modi has been lying in his election speeches about fulfilling all the demands on OROP"?

Were you misinforming us?

13. You said Dr Radhakrishnan was from Karnataka and served his whole life in Karnataka.

But, wasn't he born in Tamil Nadu and didn't he die there? Wasn't he a teacher in the University of Mysore for three years only? Did you miss some facts? Or did you try to misguide us?

14. You promised a fishing ministry once you come to power.

You promised a model for coastal region and support to fishermen when you came in February 2014 - Why did you do nothing about it in five years? Why did you lie then? Is this a Jumla too?

15. You said your words cannot be proved wrong (Modi hai jo pattar pe lakeer karta hai).

Then, why have you not fulfilled any promises you made in Mangaluru in your speech in February 2014?

Also, you asked a lot of closed-ended and rhetorical questions to the crowd. You tried to influence them with these questions. Many people were oblivious to the facts and they treat you as a hero, hence agreed with you.

Finally, you said you saw a human wall of people waiting for you (which you have used in three speeches in Mangaluru – 2014, 2018, 2019). Then, why was your speech filled with false claims, allegation, lies, inaccuracies and attacks? Do you consider us fools? Do you not respect the human wall and the sea of saffron?

Unfortunately, many people think what you said was true without reading into it. They trust you, Mr Prime Minister.
You have broken the trust and exploited the innocence of the people of Mangaluru.

Evidently, you are hoping people will vote you in for your speech on nationalism with under-performance from your sitting MP and false promises. Do not consider Mangalureans to be dim-witted unintelligent people who will vote for you based on your religious and political attacks without work.

Bharat Mata Ki Jai – it was, is and always will be.

This election is not the test of our patriotism; it is a cry for safety, jobs and unity.

The author's views if carefully analyzed nothing far from the present situation of Mangalore. Once the buzzing town happy to cater to patients from far away states and giving professional education for the future of India is slowly being deserted since the city has become a hotbed for a communal launching pad. The influence of this force is so strong that even now Kerala 'God's own country' living in peace among all religions have seen the decline of relations.
The BJP ever since took the lead since 1991 for 25 long years hardly seen development. But national leaders of BJP don't forget to stop for the election campaign. The party may be asking what the previous government has done to this city for 70 years. But it is time for Mangaloreans to ask themselves who overwhelmingly voted for BJP and made one of the parties strongest fortress what they have achieved in 25 years of ruling?
The educated district has seen the most painful days of moral police who attacked the young parting girls in pub attack and church attacks has shamed the city at International level. But the reality hardly remains the same on the ground.
The fate of Mangaloreans in their own hands rather than blaming the communal forces which grew into a big tree. There is a hidden message of Amit Shah excluding Muslims, Christians, Jews, and Paris of the unfilled promise of ethnic cleansing if the party comes to power. If Mangalore doesn't want their educated children to sell 'Pakoda' or 'Pan Shop' for a living think wisely and vote for India. Not one the personality cult of Modi who has destroyed every institution of this country.

Vote for peace, development, modernization, employment, religious harmony and the least but last equality and respect.

Modi was elected in 2014 because of the promises he made and for his Gujarat Model. In the beginning it looked like he will really bring in some change....he started with schemes like Skill India, Make in India, etc... but it failed and demonetization and GST implementation were a big failure. But now it looks like he is just hungry for power and will do anything to be in power and win the elections...

Radhakrishnan may not born in karnataka but his service was majority with karnataka.
for your kind info many people borned in other state settled in karnataka for their profession.
Personalities like Radhakrishnan, C.V.Raman, Pankaj Advani, Rahul Dravid, Nisha Millet, Kiran Mazamudhar Mahesh Bhupathi, etc etc they could get succeed only because of opportunity in Karnataka.

Please do not insult karnataka and kannadigas.

These questions are just to divert peoples mind. But people are very smart and intelligent they can understand everything.
Why can't you ask questions about eligibility and contribution to nation of sonia gandhi and rahul gandhi, priyanka gandhi. Gandhi's contribution to india is negative.
They are liability for this country. Other than looting this country and set india to back foot is the only achievement they did for self.

Education for Children, Jobs, farmers well being were never in the limelight in all these '70 years'.
How come they grab the headlines' so often now?
You expect everything to be 'prim and proper' so quickly?
Why doesn't the Congress mention any achievement of the UPA 1 and UPA era to garner votes?
What was done on this front?

Rajivji only had agreed that 5 paisa of every 1 rupee alloted reached the real poor. The rest was gobbled up by middlemen. You agree that the 'Direct Money Transfer' to accounts of the deserved has put an end to all this?

Why don't you speak of the Ujwala Yojana, Smart Kisan Card Yojana, Availability of Gas Cylinders within 2 days to all concerned ? Why don't you speak of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana? You know how many have benifitted? You know how many more have come under the tax net?

For every lacuna you point out ...take a balanced view of the good works done too.
Why don't you speak of the fastest growing roadways infrastructure too?

As a writer , critic, blogger ,commentator whatever...having a 'balanced view' is what will help you in the long run.
Just to stress on the above point.
..No mention is made of the PM's charisma to draw huge crowds exceeding expectations even of the organizers!! The PM must have something in him to draw such crowds ain't it?
You then also blame it on the crowds ...do you? For coming ?

Nobody can and make attempts to score brownie points on this 'Army Matter'.....
However if our enemy is shivering now and thinking twice about creating mischief here..it's due to our present PM...

    7. You should not be blaming the PM on corruption matters at least.
For all family enterprises masquerading as political parties till date have outsmarted each other
in this matter. A chor CM has been caught red handed stealing 281 crores from the mouth of undernourished and poor pregnant women...Focus on them please!

5- e) Demonetisation was a biggest loot and plunder. On the 1st day Dr. Manmohan Singh had declared. Rafale file is missing and Rafale file is safe? Biggest loot was from 2014-2019. Citizens are Jobless. No business. Housing loans is 8.40% and Education loans is 10.5% (know the truth & confirm from banks)
6- f) No any previous govts., have used armed forces in the politics. Chor Chowkidar has no info whatsoever about phulwama attacks. A cow goes missing bhaktas are eager to find-out. 300 RDX moved on the road was never tracked. CRPF soldiers asked security and the security was denied.
7 -g) a black box from P.M.'s chopper was transported to a car and the car was disappeared. E.D. and I.T., are used for self fulfilment.
8- f) Vadra, Rahul, Sonia Priyanka are not in jail not even Mallya - paid lumpsum to Jhootley.
What else you Bhakta Bhandarkar can write. C.B.I is Chaddies Brhasta Idiots. 1st time in India's history 4 judges revolted for biased bench allocations from S.C.
We the citizens much concerned about humans and not cows.
    We wanted a Humans Government.

Have never read Jason's articles before but have an inkling that he has worked as an Editor somewhere before...Simply because an Editor looks for mistakes only.
Did I write Editor...Read as a biased editor...for he has deciphered mistakes only and has not given a 'balanced opinion' which helps you cover strides as a writer ...not a 'Leaner' towards left ,right ,or center. He has definitely catered to the gallery which finds fault with everything the Prime Minister does or intends to do. No big deal...for if your intentions are to find mistakes only..you will ..
So for those who stand with the PM here is a point to point rebuttal of what Jason has written...

    1. It was more to do with a 'Fear Psychosis' prevalent in Kerala at this hour regarding SabariMala
unleashed by the Leftists. he was concerned by the 'Hindu Sentiment' more than anything else.
It was indeed a political ploy of the Kerala Govt to arrest the BJP leader on an alleged physical attack on a women devotee. We all have read about the antecedents of 'Female Devotees' who have managed to get entry into Sabarimala. Why don't you write about them?

    2. It was Antyodaya vs Vamshodaya.... Very clear. Vadra's recent entry along with whimsical entries
of the Gandhi's to high positions in the party without proving their mettle was the 'base' of this argument.

3 .Majboor means having ' No Option'... Many of us definitely do not want to have a Central Government for there is 'No other Option'.... We want a' Majbooth' ..strong Government. He wants
to take along many with him ..even if he has majority. Not an unholy alliance ..post poll .

    4. That the banking system was put on a 'ventilator' by the UPA was well described by the PM. Go through his speech again and the 'phone banking'...prevalent then...

    5. ..Contd...

    Bhandarker's
1 - a) The BJP's protest on women entering shabarimala temple was a contempt of court.
2 - b) Vadra came up in business. Jay Shaha - Amit Shah's son came up in business very fast, ex-C.M.'s Raman singh's son runnig business & success How? Chawal chor Raman Singh was dethroned by congress in a landslide victory. so everybody's sons are lovely to themselves.
3- c) Rahul is speaking truth. Capable leader and mazboot. RSS P.M. made india Kamzoor. Rahul became popular because of the failure of Chor Chowkidar.
4- d) banking - please read Mr. Gonsalves. explained very well.

Your comments are biased towards CPI & CPIM. They are just sustaining S.C. order.

At the centre PM Modi has done a lot. Corruption has come down, if you are paying incometax, you get a a refund in 7 days,it was 3 years during UPA 2 time. Cooking gas has reached the poor, they are getting DBT in their banks, now they also have bank accounts. The local politicians of both major parties have not done anything one has a flyover at the entrance the other has a clock tower right in the center of the city, both are incomplete and a eyesore apart from causing traffic problems. We have politicians of all the 3 parties in the municipal corporation buy no drinking water in the taps, this after a bountiful 120 inches of rain and a luxurary of two perineal rivers. Our authorities both political and administrative had no vision their priorities lay elsewhere. Vist cities elsewhere and you will immediately notice the difference.

Rarely do I hear speeches of politicians but when our PM Mr. Modi was here in Mangalore, I was interested to hear his speech for two reasons. Firstly, I admire him for his oratory skills, so was keen to see and hear how he would dodge the issues and address the huge gathering. Secondly, frankly, I wanted to hear the new list of lies he would have brought with him. That the whole world knows that India's PM is a big liar needs hardly be stressed here.
I was shocked to hear him tell the huge gathering that someone is Kerala was sent to jail just for uttering the word 'Sabarimala.' Since I hadn't read about this anywhere, it came as a rude shock to me. However, within seconds I could understand that our liar was trying to mislead the people when he said that our Hindus are being questioned for uttering the word. Immediately I could make out that he was trying to inject the poison of hatred into the minds of Hindus.
I was also surprised to hear Mr. Modi say that Dr. Radhakrishnan was from Karnataka. I remember having studied in school that our first President was from Tamil Nadu and it was not difficult for me to surmise that Mr, Modi made him a Kannadiga just to hoodwink the people.
All along his speech, Mr. Modi was wearing a mischievous smile between his lips and he must have been feeling happy that he was successful in taking the 'intelligent' people of Mangalore for a big ride.
Never once during his nearly half an hour speech did Modi talk about either his developments or those of Nalin Kateel and that was just because he had nothing to say about his zero development.
Anybody who heard his speech would go delirious and decide to vote for Mr, Modi but only fools and die hard fans who do not wish to see the reality of this liar would think about voting for him. Let me make it clear that I wouldn't ask anybody to vote for Congress but it is highly dangerous to vote for Modi. His intentions are fraught with deceit and that will be dangerous for the country

IN FACT RAHUL GANDHI CHALLENGED TO DEBATE WITH HIM IN FIVE POINTS FOR WHICH THE CHAAIWAALA PRIME MINISTER HAS NOT CONSENTED YET.

In the previous blog I have specified many/54 truthful points in Daijiworld Web Portal's news Blog on 13th of April 2019
However nobody have countered it except two blind bhaktas just responded without countering or rebutting.

6000/- per month to 20% poor's of India.
This was after consultations with RaghuRam Rajan former RBI governor.
It is not jumla 15 to 20 lakhs to all poor's of India as promised by faku and daaku.

    Dear Mr. Jason Saldanha,

    1. Why did you lie to us about Kerala? There is no ban on speaking about Lord Aiyyappa and Sabarimala in Kerala.

It is not a lie. The devotees, whoever were chanting 'Swamiye Sharanamayyappa' were arrested. There were peaceful protests all over Kerala, devotees were sitting on road sides without any disturbances to the commuters, chanting Swami Sharanam. These people were arrested. In Pathanamthitta district, Swamis who were doing their evening prayers with chants, were arrested.
Politically leaning towards any party is acceptable, but to downgrade your opponent political party , do not raise questions on supporting atrocities of communist government on Hindus!

RSS is now embedded in every department and organisation within the government and supporting it. Just like NAZI s in Germany.

Congress government would have been taken some hatke decision like demonetisation and GST instead of waiting modiji to implement.

Imagine if above decision implemented earlier congress Era BJP party financial strength as of now very poor.

To be more powerful and frankly stating my opinion Money talks everything I have been stated earlier as well.

Money makes more powerful now no one can touch BJP so easily due to the financial party strength haaaaaaa don't ask from where it flows party fund....... in next 5 years if BJP elected all opposition party fund drastically goes down again don't ask how hint can be given IT Tool several drastic changes in present rule...... . And BJP will come super power I guess so.
And we have only Rahul still need to gain knowledge but by that time???????? There will be no value for digital. Crpto currency. Paper currency certainly barter system chawal lelo badle main mirchi dedo.

Modi Ji stop your Lies and Falsehoods. You are still behaving like an opposition leader. People want to know your achievements in the last five years and not about the previous Congress rule. Your Govt has been a Disaster for India that has brought so much of misery and hardships to the common man. Give us a reply for all this.

"The Modi government has been a failure on all fronts and has inflicted pain and misery on the people through its reckless decisions of demonetisation and hasty imposition of a flawed GST, demonetization and GST disrupted the economy, trade and industry, led to closure of lakhs of factories and tens of millions of workers lost their jobs and livelihood. The unprecedented joblessness, agrarian crisis and distress of farmers and agricultural laborers are issues of grave national concern. The Modi government is guilty of monumental mismanagement of the Indian economy.

No accountability at all for corruption during the last five years. Corruption has become rampant across the country. After the next Govt is formed all the skeletons in the BJP vast array of hidden cupboards will be exposed including the Rafale Scam.

Modi Sarkar Ko Hatao. Desh Ko Bachao. They should be made accountable for over 100 deaths in ATM Ques after the Demoitisation.

People, if Congress comes to power or BJP there is no problem. Only thing is that all the regional parties need to join as coalition with these two parties to control horse trading. I'm sure that both Congress & BJP at the center would be pro development. Also keep in mind that all the past issues with these 2 main parties would be 50:50 & they would be careful not to repeat it in the future.

Modi will win this time but make the democratic value will be go in a bad ways. Only god has a best ways to save India from dangerous devisive govt who will make its citizens feel they are discriminated so badly where people will be upset if thier treatments from politically motivated behaviors. As Congress leadership is not strong enough to stand up for both Modi and Shah gang it is very hard to defeat them this year but next election for people will kick the butta out of both these baniyas without wasting time. Congress need a strong leadership where they can kick both these baniyas out with iron hands. Minority has treated so badly by these gangs where India need a inclusive govt without wasting too much time. I hope and pray that only divine power can help and assit every voters to make a wise decision and vote for a right candidate who respects secular democratic values

    1. The Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi will not answer these questions simply because if he answers them his grading is a big Zero.
    2. Which country has a prime minister who never speaks to the media? He knows if he speaks to them in public he is going to be a failure, another Zero.
    3. He portrays to be a nation lover, a nationalistic, a uniter of the masses, works for all poor people of India, but he is none of that, he is a divider, not a nation builder, devider of masses, works for the rich and his own supporters. He scores a big Zero here too.
    4. Modi preaches hindutva but peace loving hindu brothers of India are all secular except Modi supporters. So he fails in preaching hindutva for whole of India. Again he scores a big Zero.
    5. Modi is not a true Prime Minister Of India, if he was , he would have respected all parties but he does not. Scores another Zero.
    6. Modi preaches fiscal responsibility but spends money on his reckless tours of the world , a waste of unaccounted money which could have been spent on the poor and downtrodden. A Zero again.
    7. Modi advocates that those who do not support him as anti-Indians, anti-nationals. Is he a prime minister? Modi fails and scores a zero here too.
    8. Modi is Indian but he does not treat and respect all Indians as Indians except those who are under his net and they are trapped. He scores a Zero to call him as a brother Indian.
    9. Modi does not respect Indian Institutions like courts, parliament, RBI etc. Which Prime minister does that? A Zero here too.
    10. Modi is not a outright liar but he does not tell the truth but hides behind the truth to make political statements. Scores a Zero in honesty and integrity and truthfulness.

So my dear friends, think what this Prime Minister has done for a beloved nation of ours. Does India needs another 5 years for this poor failed leader and PrimeMinister? India deserves better.
