Beltangady, Feb 12: On the evening of Monday February 11, christening ceremony, Balaleelotsava (children's divine sport), entry of king and queen (representing King Vrushabhadeva and wives, Sunande and Yashaswati), were held in an environment o gaiety. This programme was part of the ongoing Mahamastakabhisheka (ceremonial holy bath) of the statue of Lord Bahubali standing at Dharmasthala.

The first day's programme centered around the administration of King Adinath, father of Bharata and Bahubali. For this purpose, Ayodhya and Paudanapura cities where Adinatha ruled, were recreated.

The act presented on the stage was part of the newly conceptualized religious-cum-art programme titled 'Panchamahavaibhava' which would be performed for four days henceforth in the morning and evening.

The children were given names like Bharata, Bahubali, Brahmi, Sundari etc after which sweets were distributed. The astrologer was called to the palace for scrutinizing the horoscopes. The astrologers who verified the horoscopes predicted that Bharata would turn out into a great warrior and emperor.

They also said that Bahubali will strictly abide by the high spiritual principles, give up all kinds of worldly pleasures, and attain salvation.

The royal family decided to give good religious education to the children besides worldly education including games. They would be provided with training in ways to realize truth, right knowledge, and right conduct. They would be imparted with knowledge about following principles of non-violence, truthfulness, sacrifice, service and achieving self realization. With the help of high quality games and lessons, the children would be developed into gentle, good-mannered citizens.

The programme, which was aided by mature acting, mellifluous background singing, proper voice and coordination of lights, succeeded in winning over the hearts of the audiences, who were found wondering aloud about the high level of performance and stage arrangements.
