Karkala: Belman tollgate issue – Highway bandh on Dec 20

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Dec 15: Noting that the government has set into motion the process of setting up of tollgate at Belman after the matter remained subdued for quite a while, Anti Toll Committee has decided to observe Padubidri-Karkala state highway bandh on December 20 in pursuance of its demand against setting up of the said tollgate.

A huge protest meeting is planned to be held that morning near Belman bus stand.

Convener of the committee, Nandalike Suhas Hegde, has called upon people operating shops and establishments on the state highway between Padubidri and Karkala to close down their businesses for a day. He also has requested industrialists and citizens to extend wholehearted support to the bandh call.

Very important point is Nandalike Suhas Hegde does not belong to any political party hence there is support from most people cutting across party line.
Since the road is build four years back now establishing Toll gate is stupidity, actually it is time to repair the road and fill pot holes!
A person from either side of Belman wants to buy a packet of milk, its going to be more expensive than milk if he takes his car out otherwise two wheeler or walk!! Every political party is same and getting benefited by toll. Why no politician is taking active role against toll???

Government claims that taxes collected from petrol are used to build roads and other development projects....!!!!!!! Why this money is collected in the form of toll as if contractor or politicians have invested from their own pocket...!!!???? Close all the toll gates and stop this road robbery.

    People,

Nice, hold feet of the State Government to the fire...so they come to their senses...

State Government has money ( Rs 45,000 Crores) to underwrite farmers loans...here they are doing Highway Robbery of poor villagers...

Primary aim of all Tolls is not to generate revenue to the State/Center ...but to collect unaccounted money...I believe this scheme was started by Gadkari and Pawar before 2 decades ago in Maharashtra...now all Crooks follow this...

Government taxed fuel highest in the world...money collected through taxes should be used to build and maintain roads,,,and Governments should stop this Highway Robbery with immediate effect....

    ...Tak...Takk...
