Shivamogga, Dec 13: In a borewell in the village of Tadasa of Bhadrvathi taluk near here, boiling water is being dispensed by a borewell. Villagers are curious as well as concerned due to this strange phenomenon.

Boiling water is emerging from the borewell of Parameshwarappa, a resident of the village. When the borewell is pumped, initially it gives boiling hot water for about two to three minutes and then cold water come out of it. This borewell was dug 34 years ago and it was fulfilling the water needs of the villagers.

This phenomenon has started recently. This is the only borewell of the village where this strange phenomenon is observed. All the other borewells in the village are giving normal water. The villagers are curious to know whether this rare phenomenon is due to some technial issue or the depletion of the ground water level.

The villagers are also requesting the geologists to find out whether similar hot water springs are present in the nearby hills.
