Bengaluru, Dec 4: Former Congress MLA, Anil Lad, has claimed in a complaint made to the police that he has received threat to his life. Allegedly, a businessman, who had collected Rs 15.55 crore from Anil Lad on the issue of giving iron ore mine on contract basis and failed to pay him back, has now threatened him to hire contract killers from Mumbai to murder him.

Police personnel of High Grounds station here, based on the complaint made by Anil Lad, have registered a case of cheating and posing death threats against R Shivakumar and Ranjeetha of M/s Kumar Enterprises. Investigation into the complaint is progressing.

"Shivakumar had failed to repay Rs 15.55 crore he had taken from me although I was frequently asking him to give my money back. Therefore, during October this year, I had visited his office. After three days of my visit, Shivakumar came to Golf Club on Race Course Road when I was there, asked me about my visit to his office during his absence and said that if he was present at the time, he would have killed me," Lad said in his complaint.

Lad said that Shivakumar told him that the money was taken with the specific purpose of cheating him and that he never intended to pay the money back.

"He used abusive language against me and derided me with obscene words. He also threatened me of summoning contract killers from Mumbai to eliminate me when I asked him to return my money," Anil Lad stated.

Lad said that he expects to face harm if he goes to Shivakumar again for demanding his money back. Therefore, he has requested the police to transfer the case to central crime branch here so that in-depth investigation into the incident can be undertaken.
