Kuwait, Nov 2 : Preparations are underway for the Grand Finale of the sixth season of the prestigious Gulf Voice of Mangalore (GVOM). Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) is all set to host this mega event. The Konkani reality show, started in the year 2008 with the dreams and innovative and courageous steps of two veterans from Kuwait, Lawrence Pinto and Louis Rodrigues, has created a platform for budding singers to exhibit their talents in the six Gulf countries where Mangalureans reside.

After completion of 5 successful seasons in Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar, Muscat and Bahrain, Grand Finale of Season 6 will be held in the State of Kuwait on November 9.

For the fans of Gulf Voice of Mangalore reality show, worldwide, here is the opportunity to predict the winner from each male and female category. If your prediction comes true, then you will be eligible to win Rs 10,000 cash prize from organisers of the event, KCWA.

Teena Roshan D’Souza



Teena Roshan D’Souza, a native of St. Jacob’s Church, Kateel has been residing in Bahrain for the past 7 years. She is married to Roshan D’Souza and they have been blessed with two lovely children Rozan Valentina and Roston Jude. Teena loves singing, dancing, acting and reading. Her singing idols are Anita D’Souza and Babita D’Costa. “Singing is the melody of life” she says and singing is the reason she can connect with and express herself. GVOM provides her an opportunity to explore her passion for singing. Through GVOM Season 6 she aims to achieve the coveted title of “Gulf Voice of Mangalore”.

Oman:

Dr. Amanda Lavita Lobo



Dr. Amanda Lavita Lobo has been residing in the Sultanate of Oman for the past 23 years. She hails from Bendur Parish in Mangalore and is the daughter of Lawrence and Judith Lobo and sister of Joel Lobo. An avid reader, a budding poet and a fan of Shania Twain, Dr. Amanda was encouraged to join the Children’s Choir at Sts. Peter and Paul Church by Fr. Lester Mendonca at the tender age of five. Listening to her father’s lullaby for her brother enhanced her passion for singing and so began her musical journey. Through her participation in GVOM she aspires to challenge herself to reach new heights and aims to promote a love for Konkani music among her generation.

Qatar:

Christle Noella Pinto

 



Christle Noella Pinto was born and brought up in Doha, Qatar and is a native of Bendur Parish in Mangalore. She is the daughter of Stany and Jane Pinto and has a younger sister Clarissa, all reside in Doha. Christle is a student at Manipal University. She loves reading, singing, traveling and hanging out with friends! She is a fan of Sonu Nigam and Palak Muchhal. She says her interest in singing is due to her parents who taught her songs and encouraged her to take part in singing competitions. Christle says it is a dream come true for her to sing on the big stage of GVOM and is the first big platform she has stepped on. Through GVOM she hopes make her talent visible and gain recognition.

Kuwait:

Gloria D’Souza



Gloria D’Souza, a resident of Kuwait for the past two years is from Guardian Angel Church, AngeloreNaguri, Mangalore. She is the daughter of Oswald and Lilly D’Souza and the sister of Oliver and Lenzil D’Souza, residing in Kuwait. Besides singing, her hobbies include acting, cooking and hosting. Her idols are Melwyn Peris, Zeena Pereira and ShipaCutinha. Gloria developed an interest in singing while in the 3rd standard and she gives complete credit to her church choir as the foundation for her interest in singing. “The choir gave me my passion, dedication, love for music and a lot of musical knowledge. Music fills me with happiness and positivity” she says. She believes all dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them and she hopes to achieve her dream of contributing her voice for CDs, singing shows and have a fantastic future in singing.

Saudi Arabia:

Shallet Florine Menezes



Shallet Florine Menezes, along with her husband AgnelDSilva and 2 sons Alan and Arul is a resident of Saudi Arabia since 2003 and a native of Udupi, Mother of Sorrows Church. She loves to read, listening to music especially hymns and just being with friends! Her idols are WilfyRebimbus for his meaningful lyrics, Anita D’Souza and Shilpa Cutinha. Shallet is an active and passionate choir member. Her love for music began as a child listening to Konkani music and the encouragement she received in her childhood growing up in Bendur Parish. Shallet sums up GVOM as “an opportunity that comes my way to use the God-given talent I have been blessed with. I want to give my best and also enjoy this experience”.

UAE:

Sabita Maria Mathias



Sabitha Maria Mathias has been living in Dubai since 2009. She has been lovingly raised by her parents Ida Mathias and Late Robert Mathias and pampered by her four siblings Santosh, Sachin, Sunil and Sandeep and their spouses! Her current favorite hobby is being glued to her cell phone be it for work, movies, music or news. She is a native of Shirva but grew up in Udupi, belongs to Mother of Sorrows Church. She admires the style of Melwyn Antony D’Souza and Joshal D’Souza. Her interest in singing began at home, during family prayers, functions and gatherings. A basic foundation was laid while singing in the church choir and now strengthened with being a part of the Melodia choir. Sabita says “My dream of winning on the GVOM platform will perfectly match the work I do to promote the values of healthy singing”.

Bahrain:

Anugraha Dsouza



Anugraha D’Souza from Mudipu/Mangalore, the holy place of St. Joseph Vas is a resident of Bahrain for the past 16 years. He is the son of Saver D’Souza and Felcine D’Souza and is married to Wilma Noreen D’Souza, his lovely partner and constant motivator and the father of Aiden Sam D’Souza, the apple of his eye! In addition to singing which he says is relaxing, he loves dancing, cricket and volleyball. According to Anugraha “GVOM is the perfect platform to showcase and utilize my God-given talent in singing and I want to be an instrument of God and spread His glory through this talent.

Oman:

Pradeep Alexander D’Souza



Pradeep Alexander D’Souza hails from Pethri, St. Peter’s Church and is residing in Oman since 2014. He is the son of Late Philip D’Souza, and Late Violet Pais, husband of Sunitha D’Souza and father of Sam D’Souza. He has a sister, Victoria and a brother, Praveen. Pradeep’s hobbies are singing and cricket. He is a big fan of Konkani and Hindi songs, Mick Max and Sonu Nigam. His mother believed that he had great potential in singing and he wants to fulfil the wish of his mother by winning the GVOM title.

Qatar:


Clement Fernandes



Clement Fernandes resides in Qatar since 2015 and is from Taccode Parish. His father is an agriculturist, his mother is a homemaker and his sister lives in Kuwait. Sonu Nigam is his idol and his interest in signing developed in his childhood while listening to the music on the radio. His love for Konkani music began while listening to the songs of Late WilfyRebimbus. Clement says “I am thankful to my sister for her support in nurturing my singing talent”. Since Qatar has not won the GVOM title he aims to win it for Qatar.

Kuwait:

Shelton Rainer Pinto



Shelton Rainer Pinto moved to Kuwait in February this year, originally he is from St. Lawrence Church, Bondel, Mangalore. His father is a contractor and his mother, a homemaker. His sister lives in Bangalore. His hobbies, other than singing, include painting and playing the guitar. Arijit Singh is his singing idol. Shelton says his parents' support and encouragement while taking part in singing activities and various competitions gradually turned singing into his interest and passion in life. “My aim is winning people’s hearts with my singing. Winning GVOM is my dream. I want to bring happiness to my family, relatives and friends by winning the title” says Shelton.

Saudi Arabia:

Ralph Paul Dsouza



Ralph Paul D’Souza, a resident of Saudi Arabia since 2015 is from the Lady of Miracles Church, Milagres, Mangalore. He is the son of Louis D’Souza and Judith D’Souza, husband of Sony Menezes D’Souza and father of Raydon D’Souza. He is a song composer and a lyricist who enjoys listening to songs, singing and playing the guitar and mouth organ. His singing idols are Arijit Singh and Rony D’Cunha. He intends to showcase his talent through GVOM and motivate others to sing.

UAE:

Aenson Mathias

 




Aenson Mathias belongs to St. Annes Church, Thottam and residing in the United Arab Emirates since 2015. His family consists of his mother Gretta Mathias and his younger sister Manisha Mathias. His favorite singing idols are Rony D’Cunha, Robin Sequeira and PrajothD’Sa. Aenson interest in singing began from childhood where he was a member of the church choir. Taking part in singing competitions made him crave music. He wants to achieve success in the Konkani music industry and also contribute to the industry. He feels GVOM is a great platform to bring his talent to light.
