Sullia: Clash of groups at Subramanya - Guruprasad Panja arrested

Sullia, Oct 31: Police have reportedly taken into custody Guruprasad Panja in connection with clash between Chaithra Kundapur and her accomplices.

It may be recalled, Guruprasad, had sustained serious injuries on his head, and was admitted into the government hospital here after the ugly spat between two groups on October 25. Subramanya police, had taken into custody Chaithra Kundapur and seven others.

Those on the side of Panja have alleged that Chaithra Kundapur and her gang have arrived in Subramanya and assaulted them. On the other hand Chaitra has alleged that Guruprasad and his gang waylaid their car when they visited Subramanya temple and assaulted them. Both the sides had registered complaints at Subramanya police station.

Chaitra Kundapur is presently in judicial custody. As Guruprasad had suffered head injuries, he was admitted to hospital. Meanwhile Chaithra had registered a complaint of sexual assault. Subramanya police on the basis of the complaint took into custody Guruprasad who was undergoing treatment in private hospital in Puttur and subjected him to medical examination.
