Sullia: Chaithra Kundapur, seven others sent to judicial custody till Nov 3

Sullia, Oct 25: Chaithra Kundapur, who was involved in a clash between two groups, one led by taluk secretary of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Guruprasad Panja, and the other by herself, has been sent to judicial custody along with seven others till November 3.

Chaithra Kundapur is facing charge of attempt to murder under section 307 of Indian Penal Code according to sources.

It may be recalled, Guruprasad, had sustained serious injuries on his head, and was admitted into the government hospital here after the ugly spat between two groups on October 25. Subramanya police, had taken into custody Chaithra Kundapur and seven others.

Locals had also given call for bandh at Subramanya on Thursday in protest against the people who acted like goons, which is not in tune with the sanctity of this temple town.
