Mangalore, Jun 16 : Daijiworld 24x7, the third media venture of Daijiworld Group, a TV channel available locally through cable network and digital set-top boxes, and worldwide through the internet as well as Android mobile app, has begun its live transmission of programmes from 6 am, Monday, June 16 onwards.
The channel that was launched on test transmission mode on May 9, 2014 during the opening ceremony of its corporate office at Bondel here will primarily cater to the news and entertainment interests of people from coastal Karnataka. The channel is headed by Oneil D'Souza, an experienced hand in TV media in Mangalore, and also the managing director of the newly-formed Daijiworld Television Pvt Ltd Company.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Oneil said, "We have been running the test transmission from more than a month. We have young teams of technical, programming, and marketing professionals. The channel will initially provide three prime Kannada news bulletin, one English news bulletin, and a variety of other informative programmes. The channel will provide important space to entertainment in Tulu, Konkani and Beary languages.
"People living in and around Kasargod to Bhatkal region may contact their respective cable operators for channel details. We are happy to announce that Daijiworld24x7 is the first full-fledged channel in Karnataka to provide mobile app in Android platform. In just two days, more than a thousand downloads have been recorded, and we have received tremendous response from not only the people in the coastal districts, but also from across the globe where people of coastal origin reside," he said.
"Initially there may be limited programmes due to technical and other issues, but within the next three months, the channel is expected to run in full flow with a variety of entertainment and news updates," he added.

'Kapikad's Comedy World'
The finest comedy trio of Tulu theatre and filmdom - Devdas Kapikad, Naveen Padil and Bhojraj Vamanjoor - will present 'Kapikad's Comedy World' Tulu comedy show every week. The show will be led by 'Telikeda Bolli' Devdas Kapikad.
The programme will be telecast every Saturday 8 pm.
'Charmuri Masala'
Another Tulu comedy show, 'Charmuri Masala' will be presented by the most talented actors from Dubai, and produced by Daiji Rang Mandir, directed by Pradeep Barboza, ably supported by Dayan D'Souza, Chidanand Poojary, Sunitha Menezes, Laveena Fernandes and others. The timing and promo of this programme will be announced soon.
'Rang-da Loka'
This programme will bring to you stories from Tulu cinema, theatre and other artistes.
The programme can be watched every Monday at 9 pm.
Apart from the above Tulu programmes, 'Bayya Mallige' and 'Siri Dompa' and other informative and entertaining programmes will be available on Daijiworld24x7.
'Beary Kammane'
A unique Beary language programme will be presented every day at 10 pm. Cultural songs, dance and other related programmes will be part of 'Beary Kammane'.
'Konkni Sobhannam'
Mandd Sobhann, a cultural organisation for promoting Konkani language, and Guinness world-record holder for the longest musical programme, has produced exclusive Konkani songs and dances for Daijiworld24x7 viewers. The programme initially will be available three days a week at 9 pm (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
'Amchi Maathi - Amchi Monxam'
Leslie Rego, youth leader and ace compere has initiated a programme to promote achievers from the Konkani community from all walks of life. The programme is extended to all sects of Konkani speaking community. The programme will be aired every Saturday at 9 pm.
'Arogya Soubhagya' - Daily health tips
Well-known physician and speaker Dr Edward Nazareth will bring to you health tips in Kannada every day.
'Bharath Express' - English News Bulletin:
A 30-minute English news bulletin will cover local, state, national and international news clips every day at 6 pm.
Kannada News Bulletins
First Bulletin at 8.30 am, Mid-day News at 1 pm, and News Close-up at 7 pm will bring Kannada news bulletins covering local, state and national news every day.
