Mangalore boy Reuel D'Souza in Canadian national water polo team

Canada, Aug 5: Mangalore-origin Reuel Mark D'Souza has been selected to play for the Canadian Under-15 National Water Polo team at the 14 nation Comen Cup international water polo tournament in Belgrade, Serbia August 15-18.

The Canadian team will be practicing in Croatia against the Croatian national team at Zagreb for a week at their training camp in preparation for the tournament. The team will be competing against teams from leading water polo powerhouse nations including USA, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Spain, and Italy.
 
Reuel (date of birth 10 Mach, 1999) is amongst the youngest players in the Canadian team. His family is originally from Mangalore and is now settled at Vancouver, Canada. He trains with the high performance Fraser Valley Water Polo Club at Vancouver and has won many awards for the most valuable player in various international tournaments in North America.
 
His maternal grandmother Dorothy Cynthia Fernandes (Shivbagh, Mangalore), aunt Beryl Serao and her family and his paternal grandfather Joachim D'souza (Kuntikhan, Bijai) are residents of Mangalore.
 
Reuel is looking forward to an exciting tournament and an opportunity to compete against the best in the world in the U-15 boys category. 
 
Head coach of the U-15 boys national team Andrew Muir and his team are looking forward to a good showing.
