Canara Welfare Association of Sacred Heart Church, Mahakali Celebrates Monthi Fest

Mumbai, Sep 12:
Canara Welfare Association of Sacred Heart parish, Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri (East), celebrated ‘Monti Fest’ as their decennial celebration on Sunday September 11.
 
Fr Cyprian Lewis blessed the new paddy sheaves and inaugurated the colourful procession in front of Mother Mary’s grotto.
 


Fr Lewis offered the Holy Mass along with Fr Baptist Pais, Fr Edward D’Mello, Fr Ronald D’Souza, Fr Lawrence Correa, Fr Naveen Rebello, Fr Innocent Fernandes, Fr Tony, Fr Chinnappa, and Fr Arun D’Mellow on the occasion.
 
Fr Pais inaugurated the stage programme held after the Holy Mass at Sacred Heart parish auditorium.
 
Fr Lewis and ‘Secular Citizen Weekly’ publisher Suzanne L Coelho were the guests of honour present on the occasion.
 
A Konkani musical concert was staged by Fatima Sisters group and William D’Souza Vakola children’s troupe staged various dances as part of the cultural programme.
 
Traditional Mangalorean vegetarian delicacies were shared among the people.
 
Canara Welfare Association president Tony Francis D’Almeida welcomed the gathering.  A Clement Lobo compered the programme.  Secretary Lenny Fernandes presented the annual report while founder president Pius Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
