Mangalore: District Videographers and Photographers Association Launched

Mangaloe, Aug 26: Working Videographers and Photographers Association (Regd), Dakshina Kannada, was inaugurated at a function held at Hotel Utsava in the city on Thursday August 25.

Yajna Mangalore inaugurated the association by lighting a lamp.


Thereafter, secretary of the association, Rajesh R Shanbhogue of Ajanta Studio Moodbidri placed before the members the objectives of the association as follows:

1. To develop mutual cooperation and harmonious relationship between video and   photographers of the district.
2. To extend helping hand to members of the association in case of unforeseen circumstances at functions and meeting.
3. Holding of photo and video workshop for honing the skills of the members of the association and thus helping them to better their prospects.
4. Extending financial assistance in case of dire need to members of the association.
5. Disbursement of student scholarships to children of association’s members.
6. To put forth endeavours to avail of facilities or benefits if any for which the association is eligible, from the government.

Ganesh Holla, president of the association, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Yashodhar, joint secretary, compered the programme.

The newly elected office bearers of the association are,  Yajna, Mangalore (honorary president), Ganesh Holla, Holla Studio, B  C Road (president), N T Ramakrishna Naik, Mangalore (vice-president), Rajesh R Shanbhogue, Ajanta Studio, Moodbidri (secretary), Thomas D’Costa, Pinky, B C Road (correspondent), Yashodhar, Sinchana Digital, Moodbidri (joint secretary), and B Padmanabh Rao, Pallavi Studio, B C Road (treasurer).

The association was registered on 23.12.2010. As at now, it has about 250 members. Those who want to become members of the association need to have necessarily paid profession tax. Employees of the government, and quasi-government employees are not eligible to become members of the association.
