Mysuru mother-son duo embark on yet another journey in old scooter, now in DK

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SS)

Sullia, Aug 17: Krishna Kumar (44) of Mysuru has embarked on a pilgrimage with his mother Choodaratnamma (72), on an old scooter.

The mother and son arrived at Kukke Subramanya on Tuesday August 16.

Krishna Kumar, who is unmarried, was employed in a company a few years back. He quit his job and was leading a life akin to a sage.

"My mother had been confined to living her life within the four walls of our house for the past 60 years. In the evening of her life, I thought of fulfilling her wishes by taking her on a pilgrimage on a scooter that my father had bought for me 20 years ago. I regard this scooter as my father and I can say that the three of us are on a journey together," he said.

The mother and son began their journey from Mysuru in 2018 and have toured most parts of the country including the neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar.

However in 2020, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, they had to return to Mysuru.

Now, they are back on a pilgrimage and have visited Dharmasthala. They are on the way to Puttur and then to Vittal on a visit to the friends of Krishna Kumar's mother.

A sidecar attached to the scooter will make the journey comfortable to the mother.

@ Shankar well said. I do not understand how people can say the act is a valuable gift to mother. I would rather feel it's a torture making a woman of 72 years to sit in the back seat and ride such along distance. others say when we do good all good come back to us. At her age one must think of her physical conditions and anxiety and stress and other physical needs and attend to nature's call. I This is not the first time. in two wheeler the rider may not feel discomfort but one who sits behind has to bear all the discomfort through out the journey. Hope he will change is mind and choose to travel by bus next time. Old Scooter Vespa I believe.

You can attract people's attention with this scooter ride. Krishna Kumar, please think about the stress you put in on your mother. She can not sit comfortably, her spine and pelvic bones have to absorb all those shocks during the ride. Take her in KSRTC buses, which are more comfortable than scooter in case you can not afford a car! Don't do this!

In the last news we read that M/s Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra has gifted him a Mahindra KUV100 NXT, so that they can comfortably continue their pilgrimage on a car. Now where is this car gone ? did he receive the car ? or still on the way ?
