Aug 16: Dakshina Kannada reports six Covid cases, five infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 16:Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, August 16, reported six new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,451 out of which 75 are currently active. As many as seven patients were discharged on August 14.

Zero death was reported on August 16. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,857.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.15% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Five coronavirus cases were reported on August 16. The total active Covid cases are 35.

A total of 10,90,197 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,830 have received both doses and 2,09,859 people have received booster doses.
