Kadaba: Retired soldier collapses during flag hoisting, dies

Kadaba, Aug 15: A retired soldier died as he was saluting the flag on the 75th Independence Day of India at a programme that was held here.

Retired soldier Gangadhara Gowda had arrived for the flag hoisting on Monday morning. He was hale and hearty before he came to the programme. However, he suddenly collapses as the flag was being hoisted.

Gangadhar Gowda was a reputed man in the local society. The programme was held near Amrit Sarovar of old station under the limits of Kutrupadi gram panchayat. He was giving information on flag hoisting while he suddenly collapsed due to suspected cardiac arrest. Though he was rushed to hospital, he died on the way.
