Rajkot, Oct 9: Rest of India XI defeated Ranji Trophy winners Mumbai by nine wickets on the fourth and penultimate day to win the Irani Trophy on Tuesday.
Mumbai faltered in their second innings and were all out for 106 to lose the five-day annual season opener to Mohammed Kaif's side. They had scored 453 in the first innings.
The Rest of India made 472 and 91 for one wicket. Parthiv Patel (59) and Kaif (22) remained unbeaten.
