Hamas says Israeli blockade worsens suffering as floods hit Gaza

Daijiworld Media Network - Gaza

Gaza, Nov 8: Hamas has accused Israel of worsening the suffering of Palestinians as heavy rains and flooding inundate displacement camps and neighbourhoods across the Gaza Strip.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the group said Israel’s continuing blockade had prevented humanitarian efforts from being implemented despite the ceasefire. It alleged that restrictions were obstructing the entry of urgently needed shelter supplies, including materials required to repair damaged buildings and heating equipment.

Hamas called on the international community to intervene urgently to end the blockade and ensure the delivery of essential supplies, including shelter materials, medicines and food, to hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians.

The statement comes amid reports of heavy rainfall causing flooding and damage to displacement camps across Gaza, further worsening conditions for families living in temporary shelters.
