Udupi: Balekudru Math denies allegations of ancient idols being sold

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi

Udupi, Nov 7: The allegations that ancient idols belonging to Balekudru Sri Math have been sold, and the case registered in this connection at Basaveshwara Nagar in Bengaluru, are completely far from the truth, said the Math's administrator, A Anil Kumar.

All the idols mentioned in the case are safely kept inside the Math under the custody of the Swamiji. The allegations that the Swamiji and the staff locked the Math and fled are also completely false, he clarified.

Following the registration of the case, the Swamiji and the staff members mentioned in the complaint have stayed away from the Math in connection with the legal proceedings.

However, necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that the daily pujas and religious rituals at the Math continue without any interruption.

Complete information regarding the matter will be provided as soon as the legal proceedings are completed, A Anil Kumar stated in a video statement released to the media.
