Mangaluru, Oct 5: Lourdes Central School organised the spectacular annual sports meet 2026 for the primary section (grade I-V) on Saturday, October 3, at LCS School Grounds. The dignitaries present on the occasion were the chief guest Asma Eram, Parent-Teacher Executive Committee member, Fr Johnson L Sequiera, the principal, Fr Stany Pereira, manager, Anitha Thomas, vice principal, Suneetha and Shanthi Menezes, academic coordinators; Ivan Mascarenhas, Lynn Machado, management committee members escorted by the convenor Thriveni P, Veerendra Alva and Vishwanath Devadiga along with LCS school band.
The inaugural programme began with the prayer song sung by the school junior choir. This was followed by the school parade headed by the house captains and vice captains with their respective houses marching to the beat of the band. The ‘platoons’ of Lourdites gave a stunning performance through the march past. The school flag and house flags was ceremonially carried by the cabinet members of the school.
















































The students gave an impressive spectacle of harmony and discipline through the mass drill. The school band in symphony complemented the drill. On this joyful occasion, Marula introduced the chief guest Asma Eram. The chief guest was then felicitated with a token of love and gratitude by the dignitaries on the dais.
The chief guest, Asma Eram, addressed the gathering and shared her experiences, inspiring the students to pursue their passions and uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship. Citing the example of M R Poovamma, the accomplished Indian sprinter and track-and-field athlete, she highlighted how sports help individuals channel their energy positively and develop a strong, resilient mindset. She encouraged the students to be kind, believe in themselves, and cultivate a ‘never give up’ attitude.
The chief guest along with the dignitaries on the dais felicitated the winners of grades I to V for the various sports events conducted during the sports week 2026. The house system song was sung with vigour and gusto.
Fr Stany Pereira, manager, addressed the students to inculcate a positive spirit and wished them a bright future. Further he encouraged and congratulated all the teachers, students and parents of LCS for this event. The programme ended with the singing of the school anthem. Thriveni P, Anitha Pinto, Vishwanath Devadiga and Veerendra Alva were the convenors of the annual sports meet 2026.
