Puttur: 44-year-old man goes missing, bike found on Kumaradhara bridge

Puttur, Oct 4: A 44-year-old man has been reported missing since October 2. His two-wheeler and mobile phone were found abandoned on the old Kumaradhara bridge in Uppinangady.

The missing person has been identified as Madhava Gowda, a resident of Perabe in Hirebandadi.

Gowda had recently opened a tyre puncture repair shop in Athur. On October 2, he left his house for the shop but failed to return home.

According to his family, Gowda had been suffering from depression for the past 14 years and struggled with alcohol addiction. He had undergone de-addiction treatment at a hospital in Puttur about four months ago but had reportedly resumed drinking three days prior to his disappearance.

During the search operations, his family members found his bike and mobile phone on the old Kumaradhara bridge.

Based on a complaint filed by his family, a missing person case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station.
