Bantwal, Sep 27: A lorry transporting coke accidentally caught fire at Sattikallu Amai near Mani on the B C Road-Bengaluru National Highway on Saturday night.
The fire reportedly broke out suddenly and intensified within a matter of minutes, engulfing the vehicle. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Upon receiving the information, fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to extinguish the flames.
Bantwal Rural police also visited the scene and conducted an inspection. The incident caused a brief disruption to vehicular movement on the national highway.
