Milagres PU College clinches double kabaddi titles at Mangaluru taluk meet

Mangaluru, Sep 19: Milagres Pre-University College, created history by winning both the boys’ and girls’ kabaddi championships at the Mangaluru Taluk-Level Kabaddi Tournament–2026, jointly organised by BEM Pre-University College, Car Street, and the department of School Education (Pre-University), Dakshina Kannada district.

By emerging champions in both categories, Milagres PU College registered a remarkable historic double victory.

In a fiercely contested girls’ final, the Milagres team displayed outstanding defensive skills, quick raids and excellent teamwork to clinch the championship. The boys’ team, too, produced a disciplined and spirited team performance, overcoming their opponents to secure the title.

With this outstanding achievement, both the boys’ and girls’ teams have qualified for the district-level kabaddi championship.

The historic double victory is a result of the players’ discipline, hard work, team spirit and the dedicated guidance of their coaches. Principal Melwin Vas expressed his happiness and said that the students had brought immense pride and honour to Milagres PU College through their exceptional achievement.

The correspondent of the college, Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues, principal Melwin Vas, coach Akash Shetty, physical education director Divakar Shetty, members of the management, teaching and non-teaching staff, and sports enthusiasts congratulated the victorious teams and wished them every success in the forthcoming district-level kabaddi championship.
