Mangaluru, Sep 15: St Agnes School CBSE, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with warmth, joy and enthusiasm in the school hall on September 12. The celebration honoured grandparents for their unconditional love, wisdom, guidance and invaluable role in nurturing families and shaping young lives.

The programme was graced by the chief guest Dr Rohan D'Souza, principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC, vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC, coordinator Sr Lavishanthi AC, and PTA vice president Pradeep Misquith, along with the teachers, students and grandparents.

The programme began with a meaningful prayer service by grade 2, seeking God’s blessings upon the grandparents, students and families. A lively welcome dance by UKG students set a cheerful tone, followed by a warm welcome speech by Elisha and Krisha of grade 2.

The chief guest, Dr Rohan D’Souza, Laparoscopic and general surgeon and associate professor, department of surgery, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Mangaluru, was accorded a floral welcome by principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC. Dr Rohan D’Souza then conducted an informative and engaging session on health, well-being and healthy living during the later years of life. His practical advice and valuable insights made the session meaningful and beneficial for the grandparents.

Following a short break, the LKG students delighted the audience with a charming dance performance. A melodious Wishing Song expressed the children’s love and gratitude towards their grandparents, followed by an energetic dance by the grade 1 students.

The celebration continued with a series of fun filled games that brought grandparents and grandchildren together, creating moments of laughter, interaction and cherished memories. The winners were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony.

A special moment of pride was the felicitation of Yukth D Kotian of grade 4C, who became a Kalam’s World Record Holder by participating in a 90-minute blindfolded Midbrain activity event in the currency and card scanning category. He was honoured with a trophy and certificate for his remarkable achievement.

Addressing the gathering, principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC highlighted the irreplaceable role of grandparents in preserving family values, sharing wisdom and guiding children towards a meaningful life. She expressed her appreciation for their enthusiastic participation and their valuable presence in the lives of their grandchildren.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, grandparents, principal, vice principal, coordinator, teachers, students and everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

Grandparents’ Day at St Agnes School CBSE was much more than a celebration; it was a beautiful expression of love, gratitude, respect and togetherness across generations.
