Mangaluru, Sep 3: Renowned veterinary expert Dr Sushanth Rai Bellipadi of Mangaluru has been conferred the prestigious ‘Professor of Practice’ recognition by the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), one of the country’s premier veterinary research institutions.
The honour was awarded in recognition of Dr Bellipadi’s significant professional contributions and long-standing service to the dairy and poultry industries, particularly in the areas of industry development, adoption of modern technologies and advancement of animal and poultry health.
The recognition was formally conferred at a recent programme held at the ICAR-IVRI campus at Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Dr Raghavendra Bhat, deputy director general (DDG), ICAR and director of IVRI, Dr S K Mendiratta, joint director, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Dr Bellipadi is the managing partner of Raisons Nutritions, Mangaluru, and has been actively associated with the dairy and poultry sectors for several years. Through his professional expertise and industry engagement, he has contributed to the growth and modernisation of these sectors.
He is also a member of the Veterinary Council of India and serves on the Board of Management of the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University. In addition, he is a former president of the Karnataka Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association.
The ‘Professor of Practice’ recognition is regarded as an important acknowledgement of Dr Bellipadi’s professional expertise and practical knowledge in the veterinary and allied livestock sectors.
The honour also recognises his ability to bring industry experience and practical knowledge into the academic sphere, thereby strengthening the connection between veterinary education, scientific knowledge and real-world industry practices.
Dr Bellipadi’s recognition by ICAR-IVRI marks a significant achievement for Mangaluru and reflects his contributions to the continued development of the dairy, poultry and veterinary sectors.
