Visakhapatnam, Aug 22: India will host the BRICS Youth Ministers’ Meeting and BRICS Sports Ministers’ Meeting in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with the two high-level gatherings focusing on greater cooperation in youth development and sports.
The BRICS Youth Ministers’ Meeting will be held on Saturday, while the BRICS Sports Ministers’ Meeting is scheduled for Sunday. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will chair the meetings, with Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse also participating.
According to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Youth Ministers’ Meeting will focus on strengthening cooperation among BRICS countries in youth development and empowerment.

Discussions will cover areas including education, skill development, entrepreneurship, youth wellbeing and sustainable development. The meeting is expected to provide a platform for member countries to share experiences and explore collaborative initiatives aimed at empowering young people.
The BRICS Sports Ministers’ Meeting will bring together Sports Ministers and Heads of Delegation from all 11 BRICS member countries.
The meeting will focus on reaffirming the countries’ shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in sports and exploring opportunities for greater collaboration in the sector.
The two meetings are being held as part of India's BRICS engagement and are aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties and cooperation among member countries through youth and sports.
The Visakhapatnam meetings are also expected to provide an opportunity for participating countries to exchange best practices and discuss joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest.
