Udupi, Aug 17: A young man from Hoode, who was critically injured in a road accident near Nittur in Udupi, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Manipal on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Bette Afran, son of Bette Gaffar and a resident of Jannath Nagar in Sagara.
According to reports, Afran sustained severe injuries in an accident involving a car and a two-wheeler near Nittur on Sunday. He was immediately shifted to a hospital in Manipal for advanced treatment and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Despite receiving treatment, Afran succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the accident are awaited.
Afran was pursuing degree studies at a private college in Udupi. He was reportedly returning to Udupi after completing his internship duties when the accident occurred.
