Bengaluru, Aug 17: Farmers receiving financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme have been urged to complete their e-KYC process at the earliest, failing which the next instalment of the PM-Kisan fund may be delayed.
The Director of Agriculture has informed that eligible farmers are required to complete biometric e-KYC every year to continue receiving financial assistance under the PM-Kisan scheme.

As per the guidelines of the Central government, small, marginal, medium and large farmer families who owned land before February 1, 2019, are being provided financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year in three instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months.
To continue receiving the financial assistance, it is mandatory to have an identification number created under the Central government’s AgriStack initiative, corresponding to the identification number under the FRUITS software.
Officials have advised all eligible farmers who are already receiving the benefit to complete their e-KYC process at the earliest and continue availing themselves of the scheme’s benefits.
How to complete e-KYC
The e-KYC process is reportedly simple and can be completed in around 10 minutes, following which a confirmation message will be sent to the farmer.
Farmers receiving PM-Kisan benefits can visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or Grama One centre with their Aadhaar card and the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar and complete the biometric e-KYC process.
Alternatively, farmers can complete the e-KYC process themselves using their mobile phones. The Central government’s ‘PMKISAN e-KYC through Face Recognition App’ can also be used by farmers to complete the e-KYC process through facial recognition, officials said.
