Udupi, Aug 16: Following the success of its inaugural season, Daijiworld Swara Sagara – Season 2, a singing reality show organised by Daijiworld Udupi Studio under the banner of Kishoo Enterprises, concluded its audition round with an overwhelming response at Mandavi Sabha Bhavana, Kadiyali. The audition attracted a large number of talented singers from different parts of Karnataka, who showcased their vocal abilities and passion for music.
The inaugural ceremony of the audition round was attended by several distinguished guests. Melvyn Rodrigues, director of operations, Daijiworld Media Private Limited, inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp, while Jason Dias, promoter of Mandavi Real Estate and Developers, unveiled the coveted Golden Medal to be awarded to selected participants in the upcoming rounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Melvyn Rodrigues said, “Every individual has a unique voice, and it is the responsibility of society to recognise that talent and provide the right platform for it to flourish. With this vision, Daijiworld Udupi Studio, in association with Kishoo Enterprises and Daijiworld TV, has created this meaningful platform. Winning is not the only measure of success; having the confidence to showcase your talent is the real achievement. We believe this platform can help aspiring singers grow into accomplished artistes in the future. Singing is more than entertainment; it is an art that touches hearts, preserves our culture and brings people together.”
Fr Denis D’Sa, parish priest of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, handed over the Golden Mic to Yashwanth M G, Mahaguru of Season 2, and Deeksha Ramakrishna, judge of the audition rounds. He said, “Music is a universal language and a powerful force that brings people together. In a society where differences often divide us, music and singing have the unique ability to unite people. We live in a culture filled with noise, but music gives meaning to our voices and soothes the soul. It is an essential part of our culture and life. The participation of contestants from different parts of the state in Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season 2 is a testament to the success of the programme. In the past, opportunities in singing were limited to a few, but reality shows like this are providing a platform for many talented singers. No one becomes an artist overnight; talent grows through dedication, practice and perseverance.”
Yashwanth M G, Golden Book of World Records holder, said, “Daijiworld Swara Sagara provides a fair and unbiased platform for genuine talent, giving aspiring singers a valuable opportunity to showcase their abilities. The participation of contestants from different parts of the state reflects the reach and success of the show. Daijiworld has also been an inspiration to me. I often wondered why I should not get an opportunity to sing while sitting in the judges’ seat. This thought motivated me to create a platform through the Golden Book of World Records and set a record through singing. My only advice to the participants is to make the best use of the opportunity given to them and perform with complete confidence.”
Deeksha Ramakrishna, judge of the audition round, said, “Seeing the participants here brings back memories of my own early days in music. This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring artists to showcase their talent. Reality shows have become a popular platform today, and many talented individuals wait for such opportunities. However, not everyone has the opportunity to travel to Bengaluru in search of them. Daijiworld Swara Sagara is on par with any other leading reality show, and I am proud to see such a platform being created in our own region. I hope many aspiring singers make the most of this opportunity and take their talent to greater heights.”
Yashas Rao, first runner-up of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season 1, said, “I too came to this platform like every other contestant, with curiosity and excitement. Each round challenged me to perform different songs and step beyond my comfort zone. The guidance and feedback from the judges throughout the competition were extremely valuable. Their lessons helped me identify my weaknesses, improve my skills and grow as a singer. Without their guidance, I would not have been able to improve myself to this extent.”
Music director Dolwin Kolalagiri said Daijiworld Swara Sagara provides a platform and brings recognition to talented singers who often remain behind the screen.
Anchor Alwyn Andrade, who anchored Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season 1, conveyed his best wishes to the participants.
Golden Book of World Records holder and Mahaguru of Season 2 Yashwanth M G and ace singer Deeksha Ramakrishna served as judges for the competition, while music director Dolwin Kolalagiri led the keyboard accompaniment.
Ace anchor Alwyn Danthy compered the inaugural ceremony.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including C A Ganesh Barkur; Kishore Gonsalves, managing director, Kishoo Enterprises; and Kevin Rodrigues, manager, operations, Daijiworld Udupi Studio.
The successful completion of the audition round has set the stage for an exciting journey ahead, with selected participants preparing to compete for the coveted Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season 2 title.
The episodes of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season 2 will be broadcast on Daijiworld 247 and the Daijiworld Udupi YouTube channel. The channel is also available through leading cable TV services and social media platforms.
