Bantwal, Aug 14: A team led by Bantwal Sub-Divisional assistant superintendent of police Yash Kumar Sharma, IPS, conducted a raid at Kavalapadavu in the jurisdiction of Bantwal Rural police station on August 12 and seized prohibited MDMA, ganja, a car allegedly used for transporting drugs and five mobile phones, with the total value of the seized assets estimated at Rs 4.90 lac.
The police seized 22.57 grams of prohibited MDMA valued at approximately Rs 2.25 lac and 30.34 grams of ganja, along with the car used for transporting the drugs and five mobile phones.

Three accused persons were taken into custody. They have been identified as Nasheer Hussain (37) of Adyar, Mangaluru; Mohammed Junaid (38) of Golthamajalu, Bantwal; and Mohammed Afreedi (24) of Kankanady, Mangaluru.
A case has been registered at Bantwal Rural police station under Crime No. 112/2026 under Section 8(C) read with Section 22(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Investigation is under way.
Bantwal Rural police station police inspector Anantha Padmanabha K V, Bantwal Rural police station PSI Ranna Gowda S Patil, and probationary PSIs Shivaram and Fakirappa, along with police personnel Uday Rai, Radhakrishna K, Praveen Rai, Prashanth, Lokesh, Vivek Rai, Kumar, Basavaraj, Sridhar and Dhanyashree, participated in the operation.
Divakar and Sampath of the district technical division assisted in the operation.
