Udupi, Aug 12: Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of Prince Enterprises owner David D’Souza, who was shot dead at Mudurangady on August 7, allegedly after the duo assisted the accused by facilitating money transfers linked to the crime.
David D’Souza was shot dead at around 3.45 pm on August 7 at the St Xavier Church Complex in Mudurangady. According to police, the accused arrived on a motorcycle, and the pillion rider allegedly shot David in the head with a pistol.
A murder case was registered at Shirva police station, following which an investigation was launched. Police had earlier arrested three persons allegedly involved in the murder.

During the course of further investigation, police reportedly found that two others had allegedly assisted the accused by facilitating the transfer of money in connection with the crime.
The arrested persons have been identified as Chirag Poojary (26), a resident of Tenka village in Kapu taluk, and Mohammed Irshad (43), a resident of Yermal Tenka in Kapu taluk.
Both were arrested on August 12, and further investigation is under way.
