Udupi, Jul 22: The poster for the three-day ‘Niranthar Multilingual Film Festival 2026’, to be organised by Niranthar Udyavar from July 31 to August 2, was unveiled at the Sri Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike (R), Balayipade Park, Udyavar.
The poster was jointly unveiled by social leaders from different faiths. Speaking on the occasion, Sadashiva Kattegudde, honorary president of Sri Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike, Udupi district, said that films with social concern and commitment are bringing about positive change and innovation in society. Extending his best wishes for the film festival, he urged everyone to join hands in building a better society in accordance with the ideals of Sri Narayana Guru.


Among those present were Royce Fernandes, member of the Udupi Taluk Land Tribunal; Riyaz Palli, former vice-president of Udyavar gram panchayat; Jeevan D'Souza, chief manager of Udupi Syndicate Souharda Credit Cooperative Society; Joan Gomes, secretary of Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine; and Wilfred D'Souza, treasurer.
Roshan Crasto, president of Niranthar Udyavar, welcomed the gathering, while Ronald D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Steven Kulaso, founder of Niranthar Udyavar, compered the programme.
As part of the festival, the Kannada film ‘Valavara’, written and directed by Suthan Gowda, will be screened on Friday, July 31. The Tulu film ‘Daskath’, written and directed by Anish Poojary Venoor, will be screened on Saturday, August 1, while the Konkani film ‘Bapache Putache Naanvin’, written and directed by Stany Bela, will be screened on Sunday, August 2.
All screenings will begin at 6.30 pm at the Xavier Sabhabhavan, located within the premises of St Francis Xavier Church, Guddangady, Udyavar. Entry to all screenings will be free.
