Mangaluru, Jul 20: A car driver had a miraculous escape after a massive tree uprooted and crashed onto his moving vehicle due to heavy rains on Monday, July 20 afternoon. The incident occurred on an inner road near St Aloysius College in Bavutagudda.

The impact of the falling tree was so severe that its branches also collapsed onto an adjacent canteen, causing extensive damage to both the structure and the car. Fortunately, the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and escaped completely unhurt as the tree crashed primarily onto the rear section of the car.

Upon receiving information, personnel from the Pandeshwar fire brigade and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the spot and carried out an operation to clear the debris. Officials and staff from the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) and MESCOM also visited the site to inspect the damage and assist in restoring normalcy.
