Bantwal, Jul 20: In a display of immense presence of mind and humanity, Vittal police sub-inspector Ramakrishna and his staff saved three individuals, including a child, after their car lost control and plunged into a roadside drain near the Surikumer petrol bunk.
The car's occupants—a child, a woman, and the driver—were trapped inside the vehicle following the mishap. Fortunately, sub-inspector Ramakrishna and his staff, who were in the vicinity, rushed to the spot and initiated a quick rescue operation.

They safely extricated all three from the car. Heart-warming CCTV footage showing the sub-inspector carrying the crying toddler to safety has captured the hearts of the public. All three occupants escaped with minor injuries and are out of danger, largely due to the immediate rescue efforts, according to local eyewitnesses.
The CCTV footage has now gone viral on social media, with netizens heaping praise on the officer. Comments such as 'Such officers are the pride of the police department", "An officer who put humanity before duty", and "A true public servant who saved precious lives with his timely action" are flooding the internet.
