Sullia: Elderly man dies after colliding with moving bus while running to board it

Sullia, Jul 12: An elderly man lost his life after losing his balance and colliding with a moving bus while running to board it at Anekal on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Chennappa Gowda, a resident of Mutlaje in Anekal village.

According to sources, Chennappa Gowda was waiting at one side of the Anekal bus stand to travel towards Panja. When a bus bound for Puttur from Subramanya arrived, he rushed across the road to catch it. In the process, he lost his balance and collided with the moving bus, falling heavily onto the road and sustaining critical injuries.

Local residents immediately rushed him to the Subramanya hospital, from where he was shifted to the Kadaba hospital for advanced medical care. However, he breathed his last without responding to the treatment.

A case in connection with the tragic incident has been registered at the Subramanya police station.
