Mangaluru, Jun 25: SCS Hospital successfully organised a comprehensive preventive health screening camp for fire safety officers and personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at the Fire Safety Office, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru. The initiative was aimed at promoting preventive healthcare, early disease detection, and overall well-being among frontline emergency responders.
The camp was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Mahmed Zulfikar Nawaz, district fire officer in the presence of Shalini S Rao, medical superintendent, SCS Hospital, and Raghavendra Singh, general manager, SCS Hospital.





Representatives from SCS Hospital stated that the primary objective of the camp was to ensure that Fire Safety Officers undergo regular health assessments to identify potential health concerns and diseases at an early stage. Early diagnosis and timely intervention can significantly improve health outcomes and help personnel remain fit and capable of performing their demanding duties effectively.
A wide range of health assessments and consultations were provided during the camp, including:
• General health check-up
• Blood sugar screening
• Blood pressure and vital signs assessment
• Body Mass Index (BMI) evaluation
• Electrocardiogram (ECG) screening
• Physiotherapy consultation to assess mobility, musculoskeletal health, and occupational strain-related issues
• Personalized diet and nutrition counseling to promote healthy lifestyle practices
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from Fire Safety Officers and SDRF personnel. The medical team from SCS Hospital successfully screened numerous participants and identified health concerns requiring further evaluation and follow-up care.
The camp also reflects SCS Hospital’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the Fire & Emergency Services Department and establishing itself as a trusted and preferred healthcare provider for emergency response personnel.
