Kadaba, Jun 15: A case has been registered in connection with the illegal transportation of cattle after a pickup vehicle carrying the animals overturned during the night on June 13.

According to police, Chandrashekar and Mohan, both natives of Arakalgudu, have been named as the accused in the case.

It is alleged that two bulls were being transported illegally in a pickup vehicle during the night. While the vehicle was proceeding beyond Kulkunda, it reportedly went straight at a curve and overturned after the driver applied sudden brakes.

The pickup vehicle was carrying two bulls, whose legs had allegedly been tied. It is learnt that after the vehicle overturned, the animals were untied and released.

A case has been registered at the Subrahmanya police station in this regard. Police said that Chandrashekar and Mohan of Arakalgudu were involved in the transportation of the cattle.

It may be recalled that cases relating to cattle theft in and around the Subrahmanya temple and math premises had also been registered earlier at the Subrahmanya police station.
