Udupi: Two wanted KCOCA accused in Kota abduction case arrested

Udupi, Jun 11: Two absconding accused wanted in a case registered under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act (KCOCA) at the Kota police station have been arrested following tips provided by the public, police said.

The accused, identified as Manoj Kulal alias Manoj Kodikere and Chetan alias Chethu Padil, were wanted in connection with the abduction case and had been evading arrest for several months.

The police had earlier issued a public notice seeking information about the whereabouts of the accused and had announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for informants providing credible leads.

Acting on information received from the public, the police arrested Chetan alias Chethu Padil on Apr 30, 2026, and subsequently apprehended Manoj Kulal alias Manoj Kodikere on Jun 11, 2026.

The police department stated that the reward amount will be handed over to the informants whose precise inputs led to the successful arrest of the accused.

Appreciating the cooperation extended by citizens, the police appealed to the public to continue sharing information regarding criminal activities to help prevent and detect crimes in society.
