Mangaluru, Jun 3: To manage the rising passenger rush and ensure smoother travel during the post-summer season, Indian Railways has announced a special express train service between Mangaluru Central and Hyderabad.
According to an official release issued by the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway, the special train will operate four round trips during June, providing enhanced connectivity for passengers travelling between Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.
The train from Hyderabad to Mangaluru (Train No. 07097) will run every Wednesday from Jun 3 to Jun 24. It will depart Hyderabad at 4.20 am and arrive at Mangaluru Central Railway Station at 9.30 am the following day.

The return service from Mangaluru to Hyderabad (Train No. 07098) will operate every Thursday from Jun 4 to Jun 25. The train will leave Mangaluru Central at 8.00 pm and reach Hyderabad at 4.00 am on Saturday.
The special train will consist of 24 coaches, catering to passengers across different travel classes. The composition includes three AC 2-tier coaches, five AC 3-tier coaches, ten sleeper-class coaches, four general second-class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
During its journey, the train will halt at several important stations across Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Major stops include Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Raichur, Mantralayam Road Railway Station, Guntakal, Anantapur, Dharmavaram and Hindupur.
In Karnataka, the train will also stop at Sedam, Yadgir, Krishna, Yelahanka, Krishnarajapuram and Bangarapet.
Other important halts include Kuppam, Salem Junction, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Palakkad Junction, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod.
Railway officials said the special service is expected to ease pressure on regular trains, which are witnessing heavy waiting lists due to the reopening of schools and colleges, increased work-related travel and tourism activity.
The train is expected to benefit IT professionals travelling between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, tourists, and pilgrims visiting coastal Karnataka and Mantralayam. Ticket bookings have already commenced, and passengers can make use of the service through regular railway reservation channels.
