Barkur man missing after leaving home for Bengaluru job

Brahmavar, Jun 3: A 42-year-old man from Barkur has been reported missing after leaving home stating that he was travelling to Bengaluru for work.

The missing person has been identified as Prathap Shetty, a resident of Barkur. According to reports, he left his residence on April 7, informing family members that he was heading to Bengaluru for employment-related work.

However, he never reached Bengaluru. Later, his clothes and mobile phone were found placed on a rock near a stream in Kadur, raising concerns about his whereabouts.

A search operation was conducted with the assistance of expert divers, but no trace of the missing man has been found so far.

Prathap Shetty is around 5 feet tall, has a wheatish complexion and a round face. He is fluent in Kannada, Hindi and Tamil.

A missing person case has been registered at Brahmavar police station. Police have appealed to the public to share any information that could help trace him. Anyone with relevant information is requested to contact the nearest police station.
