U T Khader, K J George among 14 ministers in D K Shivakumar Cabinet

Bengaluru, Jun 3: The stage is set for the formal launch of Karnataka’s new Congress government, with chief minister-designate D K Shivakumar scheduled to take oath in Bengaluru today. Alongside the leadership transition, the Congress party has finalised the first list of ministers, paving the way for a 14-member team to be sworn in with the new chief minister.

The approvals come ahead of the oath-taking ceremony scheduled at Lok Bhavan, where senior Congress leaders from across the country are expected to gather for the major political event.

According to reports, the party leadership has given its nod to the initial ministerial lineup that will form the first phase of the new Cabinet. A total of 14 ministers are expected to take oath alongside D K Shivakumar as the Congress moves to put its administrative structure in place immediately after the formation of the government.

As per the list submitted to the Governor, D K Shivakumar will take oath as chief minister, while Dr G Parameshwara will be sworn in as deputy chief minister. The ministers to be inducted into the Cabinet are K H Muniyappa, K J George, M B Patil, Ramalinga Reddy, Sathish Jarkiholi, Krishna Byregowda, Priyank Kharge, U T Khader, Eshwar Khandre, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Byrathi Suresh and Sharan Prakash Patil.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to mark the beginning of the new Congress administration in Karnataka, with further Cabinet expansion likely in the coming days.
