Gill stars as Gujarat Titans set 230-run target for Royals

Jaipur, May 9: Gujarat Titans set a massive 230-run target for Rajasthan Royals in their IPL match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals were 38 for 1 after three overs at the time of reporting.

Asked to bat first, Gujarat Titans posted 229 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs, riding on a brilliant knock by captain Shubman Gill, who scored 84 runs off 44 balls.

Sai Sudharsan also played a crucial innings, scoring 55 runs from 36 deliveries to strengthen Gujarat’s total.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is leading Rajasthan Royals for the first time in the absence of regular captain Riyan Parag, who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
