Puttur: College student killed, woman seriously injured in two-wheeler-lorry collision

Puttur, Apr 30: A 23-year-old college student riding a two-wheeler was killed on the spot after a lorry collided with the vehicle near Neerakatte in Bajathuru village of Uppinangady on Wednesday. The pillion rider, identified as Neha, also a college student, sustained serious injuries in the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Karthik (23). Neha has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru and is undergoing treatment.

According to reports, a group of students from the Government First Grade College in Uppinangady were returning on two-wheelers after attending the wedding of an acquaintance when the accident occurred.

The impact of the collision threw the rider onto the road, causing severe injuries that led to his death on the spot.

A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic police station, and an investigation is underway.
