Madrid, Apr 27: Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has been diagnosed with a semitendinosus muscle injury in his left leg following discomfort during his side’s 1–1 draw against Real Betis, the club confirmed on Monday.
Mbappé experienced pain in his hamstring during the second half and signaled to be substituted. He was eventually replaced by Gonzalo García in the 81st minute. Medical tests conducted after the match confirmed the muscle injury, although the club has not yet specified how long he will be sidelined.
In an official statement, Real Madrid said the forward is being monitored and his return will depend on how the injury progresses.

The match also marked a milestone for Mbappé, as he made his 100th appearance for the club. Since joining in August 2024, he has registered 66 wins and scored an impressive 85 goals across competitions.
His appearances include 62 matches in La Liga, 25 in the UEFA Champions League, along with outings in domestic and international tournaments such as the Copa del Rey and Club World Cup.
In his debut season, Mbappé featured in 59 matches and netted 44 goals, winning titles including the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, while also securing the Golden Boot for the first time in his career.
This season, the French striker has maintained exceptional form, scoring 41 goals in 41 matches and leading the scoring charts in both La Liga and the Champions League.
With five league games remaining this season—three away and two at home at the Santiago Bernabéu—Real Madrid will be hoping for a swift recovery for their star forward as they push to finish the campaign strongly.
