Udupi: Man dies of electrocution while plucking mangoes

Udupi, Apr 24: A man lost his life after accidentally coming into contact with a live electric wire while plucking mangoes behind the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Manipal.

The deceased has been identified as Sadananda Devadiga (55), a resident of Alevoor. He was working as a village assistant.

The incident occurred on Friday morning while he was plucking mangoes. During the process, he accidentally touched an electric wire, leading to fatal electrocution.

Fire and emergency personnel arrived at the scene and assisted in shifting the body. Social worker Nithyananda Volakadu also extended his support at the site.

A case has been registered at the Manipal police station.

    How sad.Within seconds life is gone.He must have not worn any sandals or not aware of wire?Whose negligence it is ?Wire through tree to pass or fallen on tree during raining?Electricity dept. negligence?May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to his family.
