Mangaluru, Apr 21: Yenepoya Medical College, a constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), celebrated its 22nd Graduation Day with great enthusiasm and academic pride on April 18, at the Yendurance Zone, Deralakatte.
The ceremony was graced by Prof M Ravishankar, who attended as the chief guest and delivered the keynote address. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of compassion, continuous learning, and ethical responsibility in the medical profession, urging graduates to uphold the highest standards of patient care.





Dr Anurag Bhargava, professor of medicine, KMC Mangaluru, and adjunct professor at McGill University, was the guest of honour. He addressed the graduates, highlighting the evolving challenges in healthcare and the need for socially responsive and patient-centered medical practice.
The programme commenced with a group photograph followed by the academic procession and invocation. The dean, faculty of medicine, Dr Abhay Nirgude presented the welcome address and annual report, outlining the institution’s achievements and milestones over the past year.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of undergraduate graduates, marking a significant milestone in their medical careers. The graduates took the professional oath, reaffirming their commitment to ethical medical practice and service to society.
The ceremony also featured the presidential address by the principal Dr M S Moosabba who congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to pursue excellence in their future endeavors. Mementoes were presented to the chief guest and guest of honour in recognition of their contributions.
The event included a valedictory speech by the best outgoing student, followed by a vote of thanks by Dr Prakash Saldanha, vice principal YMC .The formal proceedings concluded with the National Anthem and return of the academic procession.
The celebration continued with a cultural programme and dinner. The event, hosted by the 2022 batch, was also live-streamed, allowing wider participation from well-wishers and family members.
