Guwahati, Apr 11: In a high-voltage encounter at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Rajasthan Royals pulled off a dominant chase against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, riding on explosive batting from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and a composed finish by Dhruv Jurel.

Chasing a stiff target of 202, Rajasthan made light work of the total, completing the chase with 12 balls to spare. Sooryavanshi set the tone with a blistering assault on the RCB bowling attack, smashing a 15-ball half-century before eventually falling for 78 off 26 deliveries.

He was well supported by Jurel, who anchored the chase with maturity. The young batter accelerated at the right time, bringing up a 25-ball half-century and staying unbeaten till the end to guide his side home. Ravindra Jadeja also played a key supporting role in the final phase as Rajasthan sealed the win in style.

Sooryavanshi’s dismissal briefly brought some relief for RCB, as Shimron Hetmyer was dismissed for a golden duck and Riyan Parag managed just three runs, but Jurel ensured there was no collapse.

Earlier, RCB posted 201 after being put under pressure early with a golden duck for Phil Salt. While Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal made starts, both failed to convert them into big scores.

Captain Rajat Patidar anchored the innings with a well-made 63 off 40 balls, helping RCB reach 201 at one stage. Venkatesh Iyer added a late unbeaten cameo of 29 off 15 balls to push the total past 200, but it ultimately proved insufficient as Rajasthan’s batters stole the show.
