Mumbai, Apr 8: The city is expected to witness mainly clear skies on Wednesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting maximum and minimum temperatures of around 32°C and 24°C, respectively.
Air quality in Mumbai remained in the ‘satisfactory’ category, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 68, as per the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer App. At this level, minor breathing discomfort may be experienced by sensitive individuals.

However, air quality varied across locations. Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 81, while Borivali East reported a higher level of 209, falling in the ‘poor’ category. Andheri East stood at 95, Chembur at 56, Colaba at 63, Deonar at 118, and Byculla registered relatively better air quality at 49.
In neighbouring regions, Thane recorded an AQI of 84, Navi Mumbai 72, and Kalyan 56 — all within the ‘satisfactory’ range.
Across Maharashtra, warm and humid conditions continued, though temperatures in several interior regions remained slightly below normal. Sholapur emerged as the hottest location at 38°C, while cities such as Jalgaon (36.4°C), Malegaon (36.6°C), and Osmanabad (36.9°C) also recorded high daytime temperatures.
Coastal areas like Alibag (32.7°C), Dahanu (33.6°C), and Ratnagiri (31.7°C) experienced comparatively milder weather, though high humidity levels persisted, particularly in Mumbai, adding to discomfort.
Meanwhile, hill stations such as Mahabaleshwar recorded cooler conditions, with a maximum of 29.2°C and a minimum of 16.8°C. Interior regions including Nashik and Satara also witnessed relatively cooler nights at around 20°C.
Overall, while temperatures remain elevated, a slight dip below normal levels in several areas has provided marginal relief. Weather conditions are expected to remain stable, with warm days and humid conditions continuing across the state.
